It was okay. The battles with the enemies were too difficult for just standard encounters. Plus, they weren't randomized. I also noticed you're numbers go into the negative when the drop below 0. To prevent this, just tell the code to make it say "0" if it drops below 0. Something like:
if (enemyHP<=0) {enemyHP=0}

Good job. You submitted a demo file that probably comes with Stencyl. And it has nothing with Zangoose. "I know I suck, but I just started making games." Well, you're half-right. Maybe you can get to the 'making games' part now.

It sux beyond human comprehension. Did you make this in flash? Why would you need photoshop. I've never needed to use that program to make a good sprite flash. You've got a really long way to go in your animation. I suggest you study other sprites flashes to get an idea of what to do. And why is this listed as a game? It's a movie.

TheDemonShooter responds:

Acctualy i made it with paint.net. About photoshop so i can use backgrounds. But i will use flash as soon as my stupid teacher. stops givin me crap and gives me photoshop n flash.

I don't think this qualifies as a game because there's only one small battle. And it would be listed as an RPG, not a fighting game. Eggman uses the same attacks depending on what Sonic does, which makes him easy to predict. And Sonic's healing can only restores slightly more then eggman damages and it can be used infinitely. So all you do is attack a few times and then heal a bunch of times. This makes the battle more tedious and annoying then it does challenging. The heal surpasses Sonic's starting HP and their HP goes into the negative when they lose.
Also, your plot (evil, powerful hedgehog appears) is overused, to say the least.

A good tutorial, but where was the advanced stuff?

Few things wrong with this. Firstly, this doesn't look much like the actual game. There's no life bar and you can see the enemy hp which appears as a decimal number and goes into the negative when the pokemon is defeated. The option box doesn't look right either. But a nice start. Why did you post this anyway? Does it have something to do with the project you're calling collaborators for?

RyuXKen responds:

Yeah, I had issues creating a health bar and getting it to work, no matter how many tutorials I follow I just can't get it for some reason.

Thank you, yeah I want to reach out, hopefully to people who are better at programming than I am, to learn from them and get better so I can make better games!

Well, it looks like you have a basic battle system in place which you can build off of. A few tips though. First, don't use text as buttons. It's hard to click on them sometimes. So put a box behind the text on the buttons. Next, it looks like you're planning to pull an Epic Battle Fantasy where the game is just one battle after the other, but this does not a good RPG make. So you should sit down and come up with a good story to go with your game. It doesn't have to be elaborate, maybe just a few cutscenes between each stage. Lastly, don't make it so that one wrong move will cost you the battle. Games should be challenging but not to the point where it's less fun and more of a chore to win.

Really cool. It was a tad annoying to switch between mouse clicking and keyboard controls while outside of battle. But that hardly ruined the game. I also couldn't figure out the timing of Wario and Waluigi's attacks for the life of me.

If you had finished this project, I'd definitely play it to the end.

Muja responds:

Thank you for your kind words.
Right now, I'm fixing the controls outside the battlefield. It's not that difficult, really.

For Wario and Waluigi, wait for the LAST moment of their "charge". I hope that helped. ^_^

Cool 3d effects. Though the whole thing feels like a test instead of a finished product. There's only one race and one stage and no car options.

Fun.

But more options would be nice. I once had a program that would let you destroy whatever was on your computer screen at the time and it gave you weapons like, a machine gun, a flamethrower, acid, flesh-eating insects, etc. That would have made this flash even better.

uglyslug responds:

the "whatever was on your computer screen at the time" isn't really possible in flash but whatever
