Not bad. Custom chars are always a good way to be original as long as you introduce them slowly and don't go overboard with creating too many. The story is unremarkable and my interest is nuetral. If you make another, I will watch it. If you don't make any more, I won't really care.
I noticed that some of the sprites, such as Eggman running and Knuckle standing, were moving really fast. Try adding a few extra frames to slow them down and make it look more natural.

tfpivman responds:

thanks and I know that eggman running sucks because it has only two frames. in this series there will be only three fan characters

What can I say? It's blatantly an SMBZ ripoff. We'll have to wait and see what the story holds I guess. But I'm beginning to lose count of all the people who do SMBZ ripoff intros and previews, then never follow through.

Oh and that song was grating on my ears. I recommend a skip button for the intro when the series comes out or you'll lose half your audience before the show even starts.

jmkrebs30 responds:

Sorry about that grating ears part. I'm not to good with fixing audio. I need more practice on it.

You might want to go with something more original. As in don't make an SMBZ flash at all.

Deitz94 responds:

I don't DO Original's there boring.

I assumed with a title like "Toons These Days" being hosted by a 30's cartoon looking character, that the show would be about comparing new carttons of today against classic cartoons of the past. But that doesn't happen here, he just talks about why he doesn't like Legend of Korra and makes no reference to any sort of 'good ol days'. Which in my opinion makes this just another unclever Foamy style rant.

Doodley responds:

That is a cool idea to have Doggy comparing cartoons of today to those of the 30's. However there weren't any cartoons like Korra back in his time, so that wouldn't work.

Well the animation is sub-par and so is the voices. But adding voices did make it better to watch and I'm actually interested in seeing what happens.

Joe-You-Know responds:

Thanks, I will try to make the sprites better. And in further note , for the next episode, I have the voices recorded already, but this time we were able to build a sound room. So it should be much better. I hope you enjoy the series more in the future. As, hopefully, I will progress as an animator. :D

Make sure to set the trace bitmap to "pixels" in the future.

Codeman160 responds:

Thanks, I'll see if I can find that setting.

Lame. Lame. Lame! It's difficult to tell how much of the script is yours and how much is ripped from the anime movie. But that's not really too big of a problem since I haven't seen that one. The sprite work is decent, and some might say using sprites as stand-ins for hand drawn graphics is lazy. But it's no where near as lazy as using clips from the anime as stand ins for not wanting to animate the sprites. That's really what killed this flash for me. Seriously, next time, lose the anime clips and learn to work with the sprites to get the scenes and effects you want.

MysticSkillz responds:

Thanks for the info. I can understand where you coming from, but this is just a little something that I wanted to put together and just inspired creative minds. And like I said the clips are to help get the concept going. I would not dout that the movie is written the same way. Just think of it as a sprite version. :)

Sheeiiitt! Mario's an Italian n***a! Sheeiiit!

biIIgates responds:

look at the n****'s mustache! he ain't foolin' me he maybe foolin la migra but not me. Do you know the song in the loading screen?

Now that I think about it, there's no way this would have worked if I hadn't fixed it for you. Most of the objects on your timeline were movieclips and they would have gone out of sync when you paused for the text boxes. You still haven't figured out the difference between a graphic and a movieclip.
Anyway, I was impressed by the 3D scene of Mavericks room. I think the credits last too long, and then they froze for some reason. Try just doing a 30 second clip of the song or something instead of trying to use it all. That will also help reduce your file size. I'm interested to see Chaos in action.

Punisher33 responds:

of course. i agree with that. i probably would have had errors the works. that's the reality of it. this thing has been going up and down all day today. chaos will be well worth it when he is finally. that's why the ones that were graphics i left as graphics and the ones i changed the movie clips where the ones with texts on it. because look at the clip i leaked i learned a huge lession from that.

Ha! You could make a full length feature film on how shitty the ME3 ending was. But I like the way this flash touches a bit more on how Emo-y Shepard got towards the end of the game. I was thinking, "What the hell? This isn't how my Shepard is supposed to act!" Maybe at that point, Bioware was just sick of the game and sick of their fans.

PostTimeskipSam responds:

Yeah, it felt like ME3 was forcing you the player to feel certain emotions and make emotional connections for example with that kid. WHY THE KID!!?! ANYWAYS! Thanks for the review. :D
